Totai Vases

See also the Japanese Totai Jars page. Totai is used here to describe cloisonné on ceramics, earthenware, and porcelain.

Vase 77 has a Yasuda made 安田造 mark (see also the Yasuda marked jars on the Totai Jars page). Vase 70 has no mark. Vases 75 and 76 both have marks which I have not identified. Please email if you can help (japan@sums.co.uk). Schneider has the ‘Yasuda & brothers’ mark as no. 257, with location as Kyoto as early as 1890s.
